What is the Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge?

It is a national-level inter-college competition aiming to inspire aspiring engineers to solve India’s real-world infrastructure and development challenges through practical, scalable, and innovative solutions.

Who is organizing and supporting this event?

The challenge is presented by The Times of India and NICMAR and is supported by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

Where does the competition conclude?

The competition is structured as a multi-stage event that culminates in a Grand Finale in Mumbai.

Who is academically eligible to participate?

4th or 3rd year of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Core Engineering

What is the required team size?

Each team must have exactly 3 members.

Are interdisciplinary teams allowed?

Yes, but the team composition must include at least 2 members from the Civil or Architecture discipline.

Must all members be from the same college?

Yes, all team members must be from the same college.

Can a student be part of multiple teams?

No, a student cannot be part of more than one team.

Can a college participate without registering a SPOC?

Yes, student teams can still register, but only one team per college will advance to the City Finale.

What are the main stages of the competition?

The Challenge follows five structured stages: College-Level Round, Online Submission Round, City Finale, Regional Finale, and the Grand Finale.

How do teams qualify from the College Round?

The College Level Round is conducted intra-college, and one winning team (3 students) per college qualifies for the next stage.

Which cities host the City Finales?

It has to be NICMAR University, Pune, NICMAR University of Construction Studies, Hyderabad, and NICMAR Delhi NCR (an AICTE approved Construction Business School)

Where are the Regional Finales held?

Regional Finales are held at three NICMAR campuses: NICMAR Pune, NICMAR Hyderabad, and NICMAR Delhi NCR.

Who competes in the Grand Finale?

The top one team from each region competes in the Grand Finale.

Is travel and accommodation provided for participants?

Travel, stay, and hospitality will be provided only for the Regional Round and Grand Finale.

What are the grounds for disqualification?

Reasons include missed deadlines, plagiarism, misconduct, falsified data, offensive content, or non-compliance with the rules. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team at any stage.

Whose decision is final in the judging process?

Jury decisions are final, and all jury discussions remain confidential.
